This was a ton of fun!

Cryotherapy has been receiving tons of publicity recently from celebrities and athletes like Lebron James! It seems there are cryotherapy clinics popping up left and right, just in Westlake Village alone, there are at least 3-4 locations offering Cryotherapy.

The concept behind cryotherapy is very simple!

Expose the body to extreme cold and the body will do what it’s supposed to do. When the body is exposed to cold, it constricts the blood vessels in your extremities, driving all blood and inflammation to the core. With extreme temperatures like -200 degrees, the response happens rather fast. All it takes is roughly 2 minutes, although it feels longer, but honestly the process is very smooth and depending on the staff they do a great job of making sure your comfortable and within your comfort levels.

Benefits of Cryotherapy

  • Decrease Inflammation
  • Improve Recovery Time
  • Improve Cell Rejuvenation
  • Improve Skin Tone
  • Boosts Collagen Levels
  • Lose Weight – it actually burns calories
  • Overall Health and Longevity

The process also allows you to slowly build up to the desired levels of cold, while keeping your head free from the cold, above the capsule.

They also did some local therapy, which felt AMAZING and finished off with some Normatech compression therapy!

My Thoughts

AMAZING! I felt fantastic after my session. Now there are additional ways to get cryotherapy, whether its cold showers and ice baths, but honestly, with how simple and easy they make the process, going into a location like this makes a lot of sense to me. Plus no need to stay in an ice bath for 10 minutes. You can get the same results in less than 3 minutes! How cool is that?

I felt truly rejuvenated after. One thing I really noticed was how smooth my skin felt oddly enough.

I was sore from surfing earlier that morning, especially in my upper back and shoulders, but after my treatment I felt like a million bucks. I was ready for more!

I think the local cryotherapy has some amazing applications, especially for specific injuries. My wife has been dealing with some foot pain from running long distances in training and I believe this will help her immensely!

I will likely start introducing this into my normal recovery and health routine. For only $45, you can’t beat that!

Just try it. It’s not that bad at all honestly. It won’t make you hypothermic and they do a great job of ruling out any issues that may make you not a candidate for cryotherapy.
